What Makes LMS Special
We are a small school with a big heart! Lexington Montessori School (LMS) nurtures a diverse student body of up to 70 students from 2.5-12 years of age. Our students and staff are from a wide range of racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, which enriches our growing understanding of the world and our roles within it.
We have two classrooms for Primary and Kindergarten students, as well as Lower and Upper Elementary classrooms. LMS maintains a student teacher ratio of 12:1 or better to ensure that every child is afforded the individualized attention they need to reach their full potential.
Founded in 1980, we were the first Montessori school in Lexington to offer a full-day program. A wonderful Executive Board advises us to ensure our work remains relevant to the community. In addition to offering a traditional Montessori curriculum, we provide art (including art history), music, and Spanish lessons, as well as service-learning projects for all classes.
